You already believe one window beats six
MobaXterm proved the point Vandle is built on: an admin wants a tabbed workspace, not a folder full of single-purpose tools. Vandle takes that idea off Windows and puts a route on every connection.
Credit where it is due
MobaXterm packs an X server, a tabbed terminal, an SFTP pane and a pile of network tools into one installer, and the file pane that opens next to a session is genuinely good design.
What changes
Four things you get that you did not have.
- The same workspace on Windows, Linux and macOS, from one codebase, with the same connection list on each.
- No session count to keep an eye on and no edition to compare before you start working.
- A proxy per connection instead of a per-session dialog, including a tunnelled route that needs no open inbound port.
- Remote desktop lands in the same sidebar as the terminals rather than in a separate application.
