Plainly
Terms of use
Vandle is free and it is a beta. It can contain errors, and it can lose data. You use it at your own risk - do not rely on it for anything you cannot afford to lose.
1. Scope
These terms apply to the Vandle software, including its updates, however you got it - from this site, from the beta portal or from the Linux repository. By downloading, installing or using Vandle, you accept them. The Windows installer shows the same agreement.
2. Licence
QSP GmbH grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Vandle for private and commercial purposes, on as many devices as you like. Vandle is not open source; you get the right to use it, not its source code.
3. A beta, used at your own risk
Vandle is currently a beta. That means, plainly:
- it can contain errors, crash, or behave differently than described,
- it can lose or damage data - saved connections, credentials, settings, and files you move with it,
- a new version may not take over what an older one saved,
- features can change or disappear from one version to the next.
Do not use Vandle for anything critical, and keep your own copy of anything important - credentials, connection details, files. Whatever you do with Vandle, you do on your own responsibility.
4. Restrictions
You may not sell, rent out or redistribute Vandle, and you may not decompile or reverse engineer it, except where the law expressly allows you to. You may not use Vandle for unlawful purposes, in particular to access systems you are not authorised to access.
5. Updates
Vandle checks this site for new versions and installs them only after you agree. On Linux, updates from the repository come with the rest of your system.
6. Your data
Connection definitions and credentials stay on your device or in a database you choose. Vandle sends anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off at any time, and a problem report only when you send one - what exactly is in them is described under Privacy. Connections to your own targets and to services such as ProxyPass or your search engine are governed by the terms of those services.
7. Third-party components
Vandle includes open-source components, such as Chromium/CEF, under their own licences. They are listed on Vandle's About page. Those licences take precedence for the components they cover.
8. No warranty
Vandle is provided free of charge and "as is", without any warranty that it works correctly, without interruption or for a particular purpose.
9. Liability
QSP GmbH is liable only for intent and gross negligence. This does not limit liability for personal injury, liability under the Austrian Product Liability Act, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
The licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. You can end it at any time by uninstalling Vandle. QSP GmbH may end the beta or stop offering Vandle at any time.
11. Changes
If these terms change, the new version is published on this page and applies to versions you download or install from then on.
12. Law and jurisdiction
Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The competent court is the one for Mattighofen, Austria. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country where you live still apply, and so does your right to sue and be sued there.
